Leading local business, Pegasus Profiles, recently hosted Terry Jermy MP for a tour of their Thetford head office and manufacturing facilities.
Approaching the 50th anniversary of their business, Pegasus Profiles is a leader in high-quality steel plate profiling and fabrication services and remains at the forefront of steel innovation.
The visit was arranged to mark a significant investment in new energy-efficiency technology at the Thetford site. Continuing with their decades-long innovation, Pegasus Profiles works closely with SSAB, one of the world’s most C02-efficient steel companies. SSAB aims to be the first in the world to deliver fossil-free steel to the market in 2026 and wants to offer customers the competitive advantage of a completely fossil-free value chain. By 2030, SSAB production will be largely fossil-free.
In March 2025, Pegasus Profiles announced it was to be the first company within the UK Hardox Wearparts Network to take delivery of Hardox 450 Zero fossil-free steel plate.
Meeting with members of their Senior Team, Mr Jermy saw first-hand the company’s commitment to environmentally friendly manufacturing processes, superior engineering and revolutionary technologies.
The business also highlighted how they had benefitted from the Labour Government’s nationalisation of British Steel.
Terry Jermy, Labour Member of Parliament for South West Norfolk said, “I am incredibly proud that South West Norfolk hosts such innovative and UK-leading businesses like Pegasus Profiles.
“From an industrial estate in Thetford, Pegasus Profiles is renowned far and wide for its expert engineering”.
Of the visit, Roy Denyer, Director of Pegasus Profiles said, “I am very grateful that Terry took the time to come and find out more about what we do. Pegasus Profiles are a long-established Thetford company renowned for its heavy engineering capability supplying customers throughout East Anglia and many parts of the UK with cut steel plates. Meeting with Terry today and having the opportunity to discuss the issues in the steel industry which directly affect our company is key. It is great to be able to update Terry about the launch of fossil free steel from SSAB and the benefit it will have in the long term for engineering companies in East Anglia.”
On the visit Pegasus Profiles outlined how the Labour Government’s decision to safeguard the operations of the Scunthorpe steel plant helped the business in Thetford by safeguarding important supply chains.
