Terry Jermy Responds to Budget Announcements on BBC Radio Norfolk

Terry Jermy, a businessman from Thetford, is the Labour’s Parliamentary Candidate to tackle the former Prime Minster for her seat, which she has held since 2009. He has been a Breckland councillor since 2008, representing Thetford.

Some might say the recent by-election defeats for the Conservative Government are not promising signs for them but, as always, there are voices offering comfort.

Labour has selected its candidate to stand against former prime minister Liz Truss at the next general election.

Terry Jermy, who represents Thetford at a district and county level, has entered the running to become the South West Norfolk MP candidate for the Labour Party.

It was once the ancient capital of East Anglia and is known as the jewel in Breckland’s crown. But the historic market town of Thetford’s rich heritage is under threat due to “bad management and neglect” according to one local councillor.

The boundaries of scores of farms rented out by Norfolk County Council are set to be redrawn – with some to be made bigger and some land sold off.

People could be forced to book slots to dump rubbish at Norfolk’s tips, under plans being drawn up by County Hall.

A Conservative Party video about Liz Truss’s background has been criticised by a local councillor, because of Norfolk’s apparent absence from it.
